How ‘Kitab Lovers’ Was Born

It all began when we, a bunch of book-loving entrepreneurs, noticed a bag of books in a charity shop bin destined for landfills. We were determined to rescue the books on the spot and give them a new, second life.

That’s when a brilliant idea struck us. We decided that we should no longer let any book go to waste.

We teamed up, put on our entrepreneurial hats, and started working on the idea.

We would build an organization that would collect all used books and offers new books at affordable costs to book lovers of all ages.

‘Kitab Lovers’ was thus born.

We also introduced the ‘Load the Box’ concept for our fellow bookworms, wherein our customers could buy a full box of books (new or pre-owned) for a fixed box price and fill the box with as many books as possible.

At Kitab Lovers, our mission is to change the way India reads, one book at a time, and to improve the country’s reading habits.

We started as a small business in Delhi in 2019, and today, we have big dreams.

One day, we wish to spread our wings all over the globe and change the way people read and value books.

That’s when a brilliant idea struck us- there exists a huge gap in India between people looking to purchase

pre-owned books and those that are looking to dispose of them. Why don’t we solve the problem? And that’s how Kitab lovers were born. During the inception, we took it a step further and introduced the book box concept, wherein users could fill in as many books (pre-owned or fresh books) in a box, at affordable costs.

At Kitab Lovers, our mission is to change the way India reads, one book box at a time, and improve the country’s reading habits. We want to provide books at a very affordable cost so that everyone has access to it.
